Setup Fees
There will be a one-time $100 setup fee for all Valued Websites packages. While our website packages work perfectly well out of the box (and include hosting), you'll probably want at least some of the options listed below. Valued Websites will coordinate with you in the realization of any of these options.
Content Placement
Your website comes with an administrative system that allows you to edit the website's content (words and pictures). If you're somewhat computer savvy, you may be able to place all your initial content into your website yourself.
If you need help with placing most of your content in the site, there will be a $35/hr fee. It can take anywhere from half an hour up to ten hours depending on how fancy your content is, how many pictures there are, and how decisive you are.
Domain Name
In order for you to own your website's domain name (i.e. yourwebsite.com), you should register it yourself. Valued Websites recommends Moniker.com for registering domain names. They charge around $10 a year and are a solid company. Avoid RegisterFly.com and NetworkSolutions.com.
Logo
A nice logo doesn't just express your business sensibility, it can inform the look of your whole website. If you already have a logo, Valued Websites is happy to use it. If you need one, you can get a basic one for $25. Point here for examples.
Or you can get a more "branded" one for an extra fee from a third party. These run anywhere from $100 to $1000. These more expensive ones will look more refined and will come with everything you need to print envelopes, business cards, and letterhead.
Visual Design
In order to keep prices low, Valued Websites packages come with a standard visual design. You have three choices when it comes to your site's visual design:
- STANDARD
Valued Websites packages come with a few standard visual design choices. These are a good choice if you don't want to pay extra for your site's look.
- 3rd PARTY TEMPLATE
If you want a different look but don't want to spend too much, you can get a third-party website template for around $50 to $100 from TemplateMonster.com or any other template seller. These are often very good looking, if a bit generic.
- CUSTOM
If you want a website that looks perfectly matched to your business and looks like no other, then you'll need a custom-made visual design. These start at $300 and go up as high as $3000. You can hire your own graphic designer or Valued Websites at $75/hr. As with many things, you get what you pay for.
There will be an additional $75/hr fee to integrate any 3rd party or custom template into a Valued Websites package. This usually ends up being in the range of $150 to $250 unless your design is uncommonly complicated.
Valued Websites will discuss your needs and budget and help you decide which visual design option is the best choice for your business.
Client Billing
If you want to allow clients to pay online, you'll need to set up PayPal and/or Mal's Ecommerce (which allows you to use your existing merchant account). Both of these are free for clients to use. PayPal takes around a 3% cut of each transaction. Mal's comes with a free version and a $96/year version which allows you to customize its look a little more than the free version..
Once you've set up your account(s) with one or more of these payment processors, you'll need to enter your account information into your Valued Websites admin, and then configure your payment processor account accordingly.
If you need help, there will be a $50 charge per processor.
Non-Package Features
If you need features that don't come with either the starter or the premium package, pretty much anything you can think of can be added. If it's likely to be helpful to other appraisers, then it probably won't cost extra unless you need it ASAP.
