Online Marketing for AMCs and Real Estate Appraisers

Online marketing for real estate appraisers and appraiser management companies (AMC’s) is easy when using one of our appraiser or AMC web software packages.  The list below should get you started. You don’t have to do every last one of these things, but the more the better.

BASIC SEO (search engine optimization):

  1. Define the main keyphrase or keyphrases that potential clients would use to search for your website. This is often a combination of your service location plus the words commercial or residential plus appraisal or appraiser or AMC. Hopefully you get the idea!  Make a list of all common possibilities.
  2. Use the main keyphrase in your home page’s content at least twice, and also in your home page’s title, meta description, headline, and footer. Use other keyphrases in the home page’s content and on other pages.
  3. If possible, get other websites to link to your website using your main keyphrase as the link text. www.dmoz.org ^ is a good one (you’ll need to submit your listing on the appropriate page).
  4. If you have a blog, use your keyphrases in your blog posts, and link to your site’s home page using those keyphrases as the link text. If you want us to install a blog for you, let us know — it costs about $100. Blogs are really only good to have if you plan to create a new post on a regular basis, once a month at least.

BASIC ONLINE MARKETING (free)

  1. Set up a Twitter account (here ^), a LinkedIn account (here ^), a Facebook page (here ^), and/or a blog (see previous bullet point). These are all free but ideally you’d post some tidbit about your business, your market, what’s going on in the world of appraisals, etc. onto them from time to time. Be sure to link to your website’s home page from them. Within the Valued Website’s admin click on Website Pages > Web Marketing, and enter the URLs of each of your social media accounts. An icon and link to that account will then automatically appear on your website’s front end.
  2. Set up a “request more information” form. Within the Valued Website’s admin click on Website Pages > Web Marketing and enable this form.
  3. Create a Google Analytics account (here ^) and install it on your website in order to get all kinds of information about who visits your website, where they click, how long they read which page, etc. Within the Valued Website’s admin click on Website Pages > Web Marketing and enter your Analytics code.

PAID ONLINE MARKETING

  1. The two main general-purpose advertisers out there are Google and Facebook. With Google Adwords (here ^), you create an ad that people see if they search for certain keyphrases, and you pay Google for each time someone clicks an ad to get to your website.  With Facebook Ads (here ^), it’s the same basic idea, but you can target your demographic a little more.
  2. There are also a whole host of appraiser- and real estate-related websites and magazines that you can advertise in.
